We went to a Brewer Game with my Dad, Anna, Dan and Liam. He was a good little boy the entire game. He is obsessed with balls so fun it was fun to watch the game through his eyes.
Summerfest on July 3rd with the girls. Tara had the hook-ups through her work which meant free drinks on the Captains Deck and tickets to the Gavin DeGraw concert at the new BMO stage. Tons of fun. It was a hot one that day so the Captains Deck was perfect away from the crowd and in the shade, plus refreshing white and red wine coolers.
We went to Summerfest together to see the Aerosmith concert. Our first order of business was of course a bacon cheeseburger from Goolsby's. We look forward to that every year. We didn't plan to both wear green and neither would agree to change, so we did look like one of those matching couples you used to see at Great America.
Aerosmith put on a good show, but man was that place packed. Obscene lines for everything, in fact I missed the first song waiting in line for the bathroom. Diverse crowd too. I had a man in his 70's on my right and Chris was next to a girl who was wearing her sunglasses at night and ended up sitting for the show, probably too much booze and heat! They left halfway thru so that was nice and gave us some more room as we were packed in there like sardines. Steven Tyler rocked it and I think my favorites were Sweet Emotion and Cryin.
We also went up to Cedarburg one night and stayed with Chris' parents. We went to the Summer Sounds concert in the park that is held every Friday. So cool. We setup shop (complete with a table and tablecloth) with tons of snacks and wine and gabbed while listening to the music. They also have food stands where you can buy dinner as well. The park was packed and Sue said that it is usually way more packed than it was that night. We got lost finding our spot just coming back from the bathroom. Definitely an inexpensive thing to do for entertainment if you are ever in the area. I would like to try to get back there again this summer/fall before it ends.
We were supposed to use a gift certificate to kayak on the creek the next day, but since it was so low we had to go on the Milwaukee river instead. This part of the river was also very shallow and we had to get out of our kayaks many times to push ourselves through. We decided after an hour to just turn back as the water was just too low to get in a groove. Beautiful scenery though, just a little frustrating because of the water. Chris may have thrown his paddle a time or two....
Unfortunately I didn't take one picture!!! Very unlike me.
My birthday is actually this weekend so I went out with the ladies last night to celebrate. We took a happy hour boat ride on the Vista King, had sushi at Screaming Tuna and then drinks outside at Horny Goat Brewery. I hadn't been out downtown in awhile and had a blast. I sure have some wonderful girlfriends who helped make my birthday feel special.
Chris was gone all week for work and just got home today so we celebrated tonight with dinner at Braise. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Review to follow.
