Five Year Anniversary and a BBQ.

Our five year anniversary landed on a Saturday this year, so we figured what would be a better way to celebrate than to have our annual end of summer bbq on the same day and gather friends and family together.  We couldn't have asked for better weather, just like on the day of our wedding.

Once all the guests were gone, I did end up putting on my wedding dress as a surprise (may or may not have been a beer-infused decision). Anna & Tara grabbed a suit-coat from Chris' closet and snapped a few pics.  The dress fit, but the zipper was broken in the back so couldn't really get it zipped.  I still felt great wearing it though!

The gift for five years of marriage is wood.  We were having a shed built so jokingly Chris said that would be our gift to each other which was fine with me.  The day of our anniversary he surprised me with a gift which was perfect, of course.  It was the picture below taken of us on the cruise ship in the Bahamas, printed on a handcrafted wood canvas (by a company called Woodsnap).

Happy anniversary babe, the best is yet to come.

  1. First of all, this blog made me very hungry. The sliders were incredible and the trifle was chocolate heaven on a plate. The last pic had me tearing up again. Darn it! Just captures both your hearts and the love you share. Your the best years are yet to come. Hold on to your dreams and keep cooking together!
